Anya Hindmarch Riva Clutch
IWhat do we know about Anya Hindmarch handbags? When I think of the London-based designer, I think of the mirrored leather handbags that the Anya Hindmarch name is most famous for (Okay, most famous for ASIDE from the “I’m Not A Plastic Bag” Tote). Anyone remember the Perriand Mirror Tote? Metallics are one thing, but that bag was so shiny you could see your reflection in it! But fear not Bag Bliss readers, for I have good news! Anya Hindmarch has a new clutch for Fall 2008. It’s called the Riva Clutch and it’s black with mirrored leather trim. The shiny stuff was used exactly how it should be — as an accent! And personally, I find the clutch to be rather charming. It’s classy and a little bit retro. And the resin turnlock? Cute!

The Anya Hindmarch Riva Clutch can be found over in the Designer Boutique section at Shop Bop. It measures 10.5″ x 6″ x 2.5″, has a suede lining, and retails for $495. In my opinion the price seems a bit steep for what you’re getting. Oh well, I guess not everything about it is good news!

Anya Hindmarch Art Tote
Most famous for her “I’m Not A Plastic Bag” canvas shopping totes that debuted in 2007, Anya Hindmarch is a relative newcomer to the world of handbags. Her first handbag store was opened only about 15 years ago, but already her designs have won the hearts of both celebrities (e.g. Jessica Alba and Reese Witherspoon) and ordinary fashionistas alike. So when I saw this Anya Hindmarch Art Tote over at Shop Bop, I was intrigued. Why? Well, it’s because when I look at this bag, I don’t automatically think Anya Hindmarch. It’s not as whimsical as other bags I have seen by this designer. And, quite frankly, I think that’s a good thing!

For me, the Anya Hindmarch Art Tote is just a nice-looking tote all the way around. The signature quilting (e.g. little bows) is simple and subdued, and yet it maintains the essence of Anya Hindmarch’s style. This bag is versatile with its detachable shoulder strap (just in case you need your hands free) and neutral color. And the interior keeps you organized with its multifunction pockets, pen slot, and key clip. I especially like the idea of the pen slot since I’m always looking for my pen!

Anya Hindmarch Loose Pocket Cases and Key Pouches
Anya Hindmarch — a gal that likes to put labels on her bags. She’s famous for the I’m Not A Plastic Bag canvas shopping tote, but did you know she has produced other bags with writing on them? Above, you’ll find a Loose Pocket Case and a Key Pouch from her collection. Hmm, if you ask me, they are coin purses. But leave it to designers to give sophisticated names to ordinary objects!

The Loose Pocket Case (left) is constructed of metallic leather. It features this adorable scalloped edge and is embossed with a saying. This particular one is pink and says “Fun Money”, but it is also available in a “Cruise Fund” (gold) and an “Odds & Sods” (blue) version. The case measures 7″ x 4 1/2″ x 1/2″ and retails for $145. Now if only she would have designed one that said “Handbag Fund”!

The Key Pouch (right) is constructed of pebbled leather. It features a tasseled zipper pull and a spring-clasp keyring. The one shown is a chestnut brown and is gold embossed with the word “Work”. This key pouch is also available in a “Home” (blue) and a “Car” (tan) version. The pouch measures 5″ x 3″ and retails for $135. Now you can have your keys organized and ready for a quick “grab and go”!

Most amusing about these coin purses, I thought, was how they have this “Martha Stewart” aura about them. Is it just me, or does this seem like something she would create with her trusty sewing machine and glue gun?

Anya Hindmarch was Robbed!
Handbag thieves strike again, and this time fashion designer Anya Hindmarch is the latest victim. Within the last few months, the Luella Bartley and Marc Jacobs london boutiques were raided, which resulted in the loss of thousands of dollars worth of this seasons latest designer handbags, clutches, purses and totes.

Anya Hindmarch is the latest designer to be targeted by a gang of fashion thieves on mopeds who have been raiding designer stores in London. A group of burglars raided the store on Ledbury Road in the early hours of this morning and made off with a bunch of handbags. The loss is estimated to be around $40,000.

No major leads, but the police believe these robberies are connected. No designer is safe….

Purse Trend: Black with a touch of Gold
Have you gone purse shopping lately and noticed the increased number of black and gold bags? They’re everywhere. From online to instore, this trend is all over the place for this up-and-coming fall season.

Personally, I’m more of a black and platinum/silver type of girl, so I doubt I would rock one of these bags. Well except for the Chloe Gold Bow Clutch. That one is just simply adorable.

This one, which is supposed to be the latest trend, is the black patent duffle-style (not really a duffle, its small) unstructured purse, which features thick yellowish-gold thin trim, multiple convenient exterior pockets for easy access, and a roomy interior.
